Who are we?
Founded in 2022 by DeAndrea Byrd, the STEM Sparkle: GirlPowered STEM program, empowers young women to pursue their passions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our program is designed to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
We believe that every girl has the potential to make a difference in the world through STEM. That's why we offer a wide range of hands-on learning experiences, including workshops, mentorship, and career exploration opportunities, that are tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of girls.
Our team of experienced and dedicated educators and professionals are passionate about inspiring the next generation of female STEM leaders. Through our program, girls will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to pursue their dreams and become the innovators and problem-solvers of the future.
What we offer?
The STEM Sparkle: Girl Powered STEM program, offers an innovative and exciting Lip Gloss Boss curriculum designed to inspire and empower young girls to become entrepreneurs and leaders in the beauty industry. Our Lip Gloss Boss curriculum is focused on providing practical skills and knowledge that girls can use to launch their own lip gloss businesses and develop their entrepreneurial mindset.
Through our program, girls will learn the fundamentals of starting and running a business, including product development, branding, marketing, sales, and financial management. Our experienced instructors and mentors provide guidance and support throughout the program, helping girls to develop their unique ideas and turn them into successful ventures.
In addition to business skills, our progam also emphasizes personal development and leadership. Girls will learn how to set goals, build confidence, and communicate effectively with customers and peers. We also provide opportunities for networking and mentorship, connecting girls with successful women entrepreneurs in the beauty industry.
Our curriculum is flexible and adaptable, allowing girls to learn at their own pace and in their own way. Whether they are interested in launching a full-time business or just exploring their passion for beauty and entrepreneurship, Lip Gloss Boss provides the tools and resources to help girls achieve their goals and succeed in the competitive world of business.
Who is eligible to apply?
The program is open to girls in the Metro Atlanta area who are currently in grades K-12. The program is divided into three groups based on grade level:
Group I :Grades 4-5
Group II: Grades 6-8
Group III: Grades 9-10
Girls who are interested in STEM fields and are from underserved and underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply. No prior experience is required, but a passion for learning and a willingness to participate in program activities is essential.
